Only ten weeks separate us from the 19th edition of the Granfondo Internazionale Felice Gimondi – Bianchi. Here are ten adjectives – one for every week – to understand the uniqueness of this event and all the history that’s surrounding it, with 18 editions held so far and 68812 participants. 1. ECONOMICAL: registration costs only 32 Euro: of the most important Granfondos, the Gimondi is always the less expensive, despite the fact its services are excellent.
2. FLEXIBLE: three beautiful routes: short (89,4 km), medium (128,8 km), and long (162,1 km) and the possibility to decide during the race which you will ride.
3. SAFE: 60 motorcycles, 1000 meters of barriers at the start and finish, 250 people at the crossroads, 40 radio amateurs on the course, 40 autovehicles – among them emergency cars and broom wagons, and 70 health workers ready to provide any help it’s needed.
4. CONVENIENT: from the International Airport “Caravaggio” Orio al Serio to the center of Bergamo there’s only a five-minute drive, the airport being the third most busiest Italian airport, with 36 million passengers every year. Bergamo is easy to reach by fans from all over Europe.
5. SUPPORTIVE: ten mechanical assistance points and five other with refreshments will be on the course: the Granfondo Felice Gimondi leaves no one behind.
6. FESTIVE: before and after the race, everyone is invited to enjoy at the Lazzaretto di Bergamo, the biggest and most beautiful of the headquarters, with 10 000 square meters of green space.
7. CLEAN: Bergamo and its province are beautiful: thanks to the eco-zones placed after the refreshment points, the environment will be protected.
8. EFFICIENT: 365 days a year, there’s always someone prepared to listen and answer your questions by phone, e-mail, at the office, or through social media networks.
